Now, this is funny....
BERLIN (Reuters) - A nine-year-old German girl was so upset about having to tidy her room she put up a sign in her window urging passers-by to call police for help.
Pedestrians in the central city of Braunschweig saw the girl crying in the window, holding up a sign up saying "Help! Please call the police!" Next to her sat a small boy. Quickly alerted, officers rushed to the scene to discover the girl had argued with her mother about tidying her room and enlisted her two-year-old brother's aid to attract attention.
"The room looked like a battlefield," said a spokesman for local police on Monday. "Officers told the girl to tidy her room. When they came back two hours later to check, it was all cleaned up. And the mother and daughter had made up too."

Something like this happened to my brother. Bill, my brother, was sitting in the livingroom to his house when he noticed someone just outside the window. As he was looking to see who it might be the front door was kicked in and the police in riot garb charged in. They put Bill in handcuffs and searched the house. Bill son, Cooper, was hiding in the attic with a cordless phone, he had called 911 and whispered into the receiver, "help me, please help me" and then hung up. A few minutes later he called again and whipered, "Please help me." and again hung up. The cops uncuffed Bill and said they would not press charges if he would pay for the damages to his property himself and Bill agreed. Anyway, I thought it funny and that story reminded me of it. |
